Brake system composition

As a braking system, its function is, of course, to make the car in motion slow down or even stop as we wish. It works by converting the kinetic energy of a car into heat energy through friction. The automobile braking system is mainly composed of energy supply devices, control devices, transmission devices and brakes, and the common brakes mainly include drum brakes and disc brakes.

· Drum brakes

Drum brakes mainly include brake wheels, brake shoes, brake drums, friction discs, rebound and other parts. It mainly plays a braking effect through the friction disc of the hydraulic device and the friction between the inside of the brake drum when the wheel rotates.

When the brake pedal is pressed, the piston of the brake master cylinder is pushed into motion, which creates pressure in the oil circuit. The brake fluid transmits pressure to the brake cylinder of the wheel, pushing the piston, which pushes the brake shoe outward, causing friction between the friction disc and the brake drum, which creates braking force.

From the structure, it can be seen that the drum brake works in a relatively closed environment, and the heat generated during the braking process is not easy to dissipate, and frequent braking affects the braking effect. However, drum brakes provide high braking power and are widely used in heavy-duty vehicles.

· Disc brakes

Disc brakes, also known as disc brakes, are mainly composed of brake discs, brake clamps, friction discs, pumps, oil pipes and other parts. Disc brakes apply pressure to the brake caliper through the hydraulic system, so that friction is generated between the brake disc and the brake disc that rotates with the wheels to achieve the purpose of braking.

Unlike closed drum brakes, disc brakes are open. The heat generated during braking can be quickly dissipated, with good braking efficiency, and has been widely used in automobiles.
